Mission Group Wraps it Up
Last week Valor Christian High School from Denver, CO stayed on our campus. For most of the week they worked in the gardens here at GSM and at St. Michael's Indian School - when it wasn't snowing! On Friday it was just too wet and cold for garden work, so we invited them into the SHIMA' soap studio to wrap soap. They learned a bit about sizing, cutting, and quality control and had a good time. And best of all, they really helped us finish a big job.
The earth is kin and its ways are grace
"The earth is kin and its ways are grace. ... We discover the earth to be one vast, orchestrated anthem to beauty..." From The Way of the Human Being by Calvin Luther Martin. On this morning the sun rose with a renewed strength as we lean in to the Spring Equinox. We say thank you to Creator for this gift and this grace.
Denver Show welcomes SHIMA' Of Navajoland and our new line "Blue Corn Spa"
We've had almost a week in Denver; meeting new customers and making new friends. Thanks to the Rocky Mountain Gift Show, you will be seeing SHIMA' in many more stores and venues. We launched our Spa line of blue corn products this week and everyone loved them.
Here is our soapmaker Paula Elmore with her cousin Adrienne.
Good Shepherd's Bees
We checked out the bees this week, to see how they were doing with the changing of the seasons. They seem to be content, and they have plenty of honey for food. Paula and Sedona opened the hives - but it looks as if our new bee suits are a bit oversized for our gals!
